A Chance Encounter with a Rock Pigeon
My photographic journey began in August, 2009, while on vacation in California. Enjoying the Capitola Warf, I walked up to a common Rock Pigeon sitting on a drinking fountain where he appeared to be waiting for a drink of water. Taking my chance, I quickly snapped the above photo. That shutter release ignited my passion for photography. It was at that moment that I went from taking simple family photographs to enjoying the thrill of seeking out interesting subjects.
Over the next decade, I was only able to take photos occasionally. Family, work and general life were, of course, priority. With my sons now grown however, I find myself able to spend more time pursuing this passion. With this site, my hope is to share that passion with you.
My goals for this page are simple:
To provide a small respite from the chaos of the every day,
To perhaps bring a smile or fond memory of a similar time or place,
To challenge you to see the beauty found everyday,
And, to perhaps inspire other photographers.

A Bit About the Photography
All photographs displayed are original pictures, using various in-camera techniques to achieve a variety of effects. Photo manipulation software is not used to create these images; simply minor Lightroom edits to enhance color, clarity, and to remove the occasional dust spot.
