While on our way to Door County, WI, Jeff and I decided to stop at Wequiock Falls Park, which we had found on a map while in route.  Pulling into the designated location, we found only a small postage stamp sized park that seemed to only contain a monument and historical marker dedicated to Jean Nicolet along with a few picnic tables. Where were the falls?  After wandering for a few minutes and not finding them, we made the decision to continue to our destination.   As we drove off, I couldn't get past the thought of the beautiful photos I had seen online of the falls.  They had to be here somewhere.  U-turn, and back to the parking lot.  This time, we decided to search a bit harder.  Finally, a walk across a small bridge revealed the hidden falls.  They were in a ravine that, although went under the road we had just come in on, were not visible from the road.  A few stairs later and we were at the base.
Being autumn, the falls were a trickle.  While I searched to see if there was a good composition of the scene, Jeff wandered back to explore the tunnel that ran under the road.  Following him, I found my shot.  Beautiful graffiti decorated the tunnel walls.  A beautiful surprise of a hidden gallery. More surprises awaited as we exited and noticed the small bridge covered in love locks.
While this small county park was just a very small part of our trip to Wisconsin's Lake Michigan shore, it provided some of my favorite pictures from our week.  Proving that quite often, the Beauty Is In The Journey.
